One piece chapter 748 review
An interesting and decent chapter that really wrapped things up to prepare for the main fights. It was great to witness that not all people betrayed God Usopp after he has risked his life for them. Ironically, the ones that stayed as toys for the shortest time are the people that appreciated the most what God has done.
It's compelling that they all fight for different reasons; popularity, pride, or for their God. All the colosseum characters that first seemed to be fundamentally unnecessary became a high significance to the story. That was once again greatly done from Oda. He's a master of characterization and developing them respectfully well.
The scene where all of them confronted Pica remembered me a bit of the Marinford Arc where top tier pirates sided Luffy. It's also once again a reminder of what Mihawk once said about Luffy that he has the most dangerous ability as he attracts people and makes them to follow him. A different type of leader or rather said a true Pirate King. I still wonder who will fight Pica and how he can be defeated. Even Don Chinjao's strongest move and Elizabello's King Punch "only" shattered Pica's right arm. I want to give my predictions of who will fight who but it seems to be rather pointless to predict things as Oda Eichiro's brain goes beyond our imaginations.
Anyways, a great chapter with a lot of superb characterization and a great wrap up.
I give this chapter an 8.5 out of 10!
