Hello hello! On this week's Aggregate Leader List, it seems that there's been another shift and purge to accommodate for the arrival of a new card, Makoto Yuki, from the Persona Collab. Nothing's set in stone yet in terms of rankings (and you can see that by how volatile Game8's list is, Zela is no more btw); but at a glance he seems to function very similar to Rikuu's Leader and Active skill. I'll be briefly covering him and the Persona Collab in this article below.
The long-awaited Persona Collab came to JP at the end of April. While it didn't offer many game-changing cards (whether it'd be for lead, sub, or assist), many argue that it's a good thing for the longevity of PAD to not have power creeps every collab. Many people would still be rolling for novelty and collection's sake anyway. However, there is one card, namely Makoto Yuki, that's garnering some attention on the tier lists. I have included a screenshot of his card details below (taken from the PAD Discord Server):
For the Rikuu players out there, you can probably see the similarities in his active and leader skill: Same 225x Attack, 43.75% shield, and 9x RCV multiplier at max. However, Makoto's LS does not have typing restrictions, though you do need to do 6+ combos instead to get the "3x atk and rcv" multiplier. His "Fire/Water/Light" attack is arguably easier to achieve, though playing Makoto you would ideally be running a rainbow team anyway to take advantage of his Skill Charge awakening. Speaking of which, his awakenings are much better than Rikuu's. While his active skill (namely the "50x fire nuke" part) leaves much to be desired, his orb unlock + board change at just a short 13 turn CD with skill charge means he can avert crisis in Alt Arena more reliably. And I must also mention his balanced typing means he can receive any type of Latent Killers.
Some subs that work well on Makoto teams are what you would expect: Amatsu, Ideal, Zinogre, Odin Dragon, Uruka, Idol Uruka, and the likes (and making sure to have all colors for Skill Charge)
With the current Leader list standings, Rikuu ranks in at Tier 3. Thus we can also comfortably place Makoto somewhere around that tier as well.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this week's post; I was a little rushed this time around, and I hope the quality hasn't suffered too much as a result. Again, thank you for reading!
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD) on all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: "Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation."
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically non-viable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists assume BEST subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (Arena 3, 3-Player Rushes, ALT Arena/Arena 4). Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling/comboing skills.
